Over the past years we have begun research into the nature of sound. Starting with a vacuum tube powered oscilloscope, reading sine waves and looking at their visual representation. We learn that two sine waves, phased 90 degrees, can create the image of a perfect circle. With slight tweaks in frequency and tone we can build any image we desire, but what held my curiosity was the result of certain basic frequencies.
Our project, earthworm.live, is focused on illuminating the unknown in humanity’s history, particularly the relationship between humans and their world through sound. We are especially interested in structures built with intentionl acoustic design elements that resonate at specific frequencies. With the right vibration, these spaces can be activated, adding their own layer of sound, a harmonic drone.
